IIRC, American resources has a joint venture going with a firm who escapes my recollection to use blockchain technology with some form of marker or taggant to establish provenance- I realize that is secondary to sourcing but it sounds like a solution to that part of the equation..

It appears to me that no one entity can solve this, it’s going to take companies who may have once hoped to knock it out of the park in one neat vertical package to become strange bedfellows.
