And sitting at the center of that economic development is the Lobito railway. Not mentioned in many press releases was Angola's President Jose Lourenco's presence and pivotal role in the Washington meeting. And totally overlooked is the Longonjo rare earth project which sits just 4km from that railway line. Pensana's Longonjo is currently in construction and is scheduled to start production in late 2025, with some as yet unknown sponsor keen to urgently expand the current 20 year mine reserve into a Billion-ton mega mine.
