BRE has announced a strategic partnership with SENAI CIMATEC, a Brazilian research and innovation institute. This collaboration aims to advance the development of rare earth projects in the Rocha da Rocha province, Bahia, Brazil.

My view:
- So this does strengthen BRE's capabilities and enhances BRE's capacity to process and develop their REEs.
- This is an important step. Remembering these are the steps we are looking for as investors:
  • Pilot-scale/demo plant (This is what the CIMATEC partnership is for)
  • Feasibility Study (PFS or DFS) (This will come after...would like to know the expected timing)
  • FEED (Engineering and cost definition for commercial-scale development - again would like to know the timing)
So they are doing all the right work.

What do others think?

Great analysis John—I think you hit the nail on the head that this is an incredibly positive first step.

By teaming up with SENAI CIMATEC, BRE is strengthening its commitment to domestic development in Brazil which seems to be a prudent decision. They are investing in domestic innovation, tapping into deep local expertise, and with a facility location just 200 km from Monte Alto—and near the massive Camaçari Petrochemical Complex—the logistics couldn’t be better.

This collaboration signals that BRE isn’t standing still. It’s building momentum, securing the right partners, and doing the work to bring Monte Alto’s potential to reality.

I also wonder how much Hancock Prospecting is providing some assistance as well? I hope they are. I have had some investment's that Gina has been a part of that was great for the company. And others where it turned out to be terrible. Surely BRE is in her sweet spot for where she wants to take HP in the future.
