in today’s news fee on REExhttps://rareearthexchanges.com/news/reex-message-how-market-manipulation-is-undercutting-western-rare-earth-independence/ takes a prominent position. I wrote a paper on this in November after doing an analysis on the short positionss taken on MP Materals. Admittedly their valuation and Lynda’s had got a bit froth, but to say the capital markets were ruthless would be the understatement if the year. I wrote a paper on it, and published on LinkedIn and also in my own blog page. You might find it interesting https://www.thebrownpaper.net/blog/qkekxls7aed426lqc6jw2pms6itwsw

Great paper @Ian Brown

Yep. China is using the west’s own rules against ourselves. Great example is NTU on the ASX. It’s crazy that Aust just hasn’t taken their shares and disposed of them.

Also ECE Nolan’s destroyed ARUs share price when they sold on market. Deliberately.

Ok, so…
To beat China and Wall Street at this tamp-down of all the potential non or not-yet- profitable players in stateside mining, processing, purifying and alloying/sintering could we support nationalizing these concerns for a period of time?
I’m a free market guy but this is akin to war and needs to be viewed as such.
I’m in about 10 of these stocks and total market capitalization is about 17.85 billion tonight- to finance their initiatives might triple that.
We lost that much in the sofa in Afghanistan every year with nothing to show but Taliban riding around in our vehicles with our weapons…
They’re killing the start-ups, time to intervene

South Korea stopped shorting on their stock markets.....and the capital didn't run away.

Govt should look at what industries need to be protected...and then do it! No more talk...just get on with it.

Shorting in my generation was not honorable, more like leeches weakening the host..
The whole derivatives thing goes against trying to build an economy and a nation as opposed to opportunistic financial saprovorism
