Mine-to-Magnet or No Contract: DFARS 2027 Forces a Defense Supply Chain Reckoning

The last 4, maybe 5 DC administrations have been made aware of this situation and typically resisted taking a sure pathway that breaks up China’s 40+ yrs of practicing the rare earth refinement-and especially defense applications products.
The amount of challenges to this situation has been CREATED & self injurious YET - the US military has to have the last action even when it’s delaying the results it purports.
Nuclear power of the peaceful kind is finally breaking the 5+decades moratorium ceiling-might same prevail for materials science and domestic manufacturing?!
Pointing the finger at China and blaming its success on our unfortunate situation is not a true sizing of our correct dilemma.
The United States has only itself to blame because of many false steps and inability to learn from past mistakes. Policy and legacy capital are two huge obstacles for sure and must be rectified otherwise the slow grind will prevail! Why is it that the benefits of education and technical ability are buried in Washington’s red-tape OH YA….. capitalism at our finest takes the long road nearly every time!!!
