As the U.S. intensifies efforts to establish a domestic supply chain for rare earth elements, American Resources Corporation (NASDAQ: AREC) and its subsidiary, ReElement Technologies, have emerged as pivotal players in the refining sector.

ReElement Technologies operates a facility in Noblesville, Indiana, utilizing proprietary Ligand Assisted Displacement (LAD) chromatography—a method developed in collaboration with Purdue University—to achieve ultra-high-purity rare earth oxides, including neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium, and terbium.

Notably, ReElement is currently the only U.S. company actively refining and separating heavy rare earth elements, such as dysprosium and terbium, which are critical for defense and clean energy applications.

Their modular refining platform has recently doubled its production capacity, with plans to triple output in the coming months.

Questions:

How does ReElement's LAD chromatography compare to traditional solvent-based extraction methods in terms of efficiency and environmental impact?

What are the implications of ReElement's advancements for the U.S. rare earth supply chain and national security?

Can ReElement's approach serve as a model for sustainable and scalable rare earth refining in other regions?

Looking forward to hearing your insights and perspectives on this development.

Rare earth, extraction and separation technology has advanced leaps and bounds in the last 3-4 years; I am aware of at least three other Western Universities that have independently developed LAD process'. While small scale process verification is still underway there are at least two commercial scale plants already planned to commence construction this year. So much for the 30yr lead the Chinese claimed they had!

AREC stock seems really low for positioning to lead the way in REE refining. Any thoughts on AREC stock/the company? John does great analyses of these kinds, but not sure if one on AREC would be too much to ask for. I would if I knew anything at all.
