I cannot believe that an organisation as eminent as the USGS, is so incompetent that it is unaware of Angola's Rare Earths deposits.
Or that Myanmar produced over 31,000 tons of RE concentrates last year, 5th largest producer in the World !
Perhaps one of the problems is the question as to what defines a 'Reserve' in various jurisdictions, Is it Ore (dirt) or Contained metal.

Assuming that the USGS are not incompetent, these omissions must be deliberate. What reasons would a US Government Authority have to falsify the Reports it produces? Is it being driven from the Top down, or by other Departments, or perhaps from interests outside of Government? No wonder there is so much uncertainty in the Markets when we can't even rely on the validity of the top data source used to forecast future supply!
