Is POSCO going to be the ex China global leader for magnet and other value-added production?

POSCO is working with STAR GROUP and also working with U.S. based Energy Fuels. Could this be the first ex China market mover at scale? German-based VAC is expanding in the USA developing a magnet production facility. Neo Performance Materials, a vertically integrated active oxide and alloy production another interesting one to watch. Also MP Materials has a deal with General Motors, but this is early stages. But are there any capital constraints? Here is the situation. They were planning on stopping the flow of product to China for refining in another year or so. But now with the recent announcement this has accelerated this requirement. This may impact financials.

I have it first hand from in the know at ARAFURA that POsCO was completing DD at ARU Nolans site circa 18months ago. It looks like something has stalled since, potentially government support that would obviously yield a better outcome (yet to be seen-elections upcoming), but also suggesting POsCO making a move on large part of their product which is REO coming out of Australia. Yes: does seem very possible this is POsCO play.

Yeah it is interesting about Posco. They seem to be everywhere, yet nowhere. By that I mean, we hear about them doing a deal with Arafura (ASX: ARU), but then northing has ever materialised.

And they seem to have done other deals. So they have a multi prong approach.

But then Xi/China now threatening them....what do you think they will do?
